1. Walks on the lake

To enjoy the lake being a little more quiet and why not take a dip a little further offshore, you will find, along the lake, various boats. You can choose a small pedal boat ride (at least 13 € ½ hour) or motor boat driving without a license (from 37 € ½ hour). You can also opt for a mini-cruise on the famous boat-restaurant « Libellule » Annecy. 2 departures per day, at 12h and 20h for a ride of about 2h30. Or you may prefer one of the other 4 boats of the company, for a commented discovery cruise of one or two hours. For amateurs, you can also try to introduce you to water skiing or wakeboarding. Price: From 38 € for a tour. Or just go for a ride on stand-up paddle!

2. Segway ride by the lake

In quiet version you can opt for the Segway ride, the edge of Lake Annecy is the ideal place to learn this practice because totally pedestrian, no risk of being overturned by a car. Excursions are planned in town and in the mountain trails around 30 minutes to half a day (from 17 €). The handling of the Segway is learned very quickly and can be a very good family activity.

3. Cycling or rollerblading around Lake Annecy

For the more athletic, you can cycle around Lake Annecy. Perfect also to find small beaches a little isolated and away from the crowd (especially in summer). This is an old railway line rehabilitated bike path. The tour is about 40km and is more or less in 2h30. By cons, east side (Talloires, Menthon, Veyrier) the track is not complete and, given the narrowness of some passages, we can feel a little shaved by cars at times. The west side (between Annecy and Bout-du-Lac) is however ideal for skating. And if you took your mountain bike, you can do (among others) the descent of Semnoz. It is even possible to ride with your bike directly to the top by bus thanks to the summer line of the Sibra for 6 €.

4. Get high!

For adventurers and thrill seekers, I recommend flying over the lake paragliding, the view is simply beautiful and beautiful surroundings. Annecy is the most popular paragliding site in Europe and regularly hosts the world championship in this discipline. Several companies offer flying baptisms from 80 € 15/20 minutes with the possibility to choose with or without acrobatics! The main departure of paragliders around Annecy is at the Col de la Forclaz, above Talloires, towards Montmin. Once left, we fly along and above the mountains (La Tournette, Lanfonnet, Pointe de la Beccaz …) with Lake Annecy just below. Another departure is at Grand-Bornand. Here, no lake but an immersion in the Bollards-fountains with all the peaks that slip along the Chaine and a direct view of Mont Blanc! You can also do hike-flights: climb on foot (in the morning or at the end of aprèm) and … downhill by flying!

5. Among friends

And if you are among friends, why not go for example tree climbing or a game of paintball in the forest near Annecy?

6. Canyoning

Adepts of canynoning, you can discover the canyons of Savoy like the Grenan, Chailles, Ternese and the Devil’s Bridge, through courses initiation / discovery or development / expert. From 40 €.

And if you want to do a free activity, you can just as well swim on one of the beaches of Lake Annecy!
